Drop2Hear · Beta
Terms of use
These terms describe use of the current beta tool. They are not a substitute for review by a qualified lawyer before public or commercial launch.
Using this beta
By using the current beta, you agree to use it responsibly and to review these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the tool.
The service
Drop2Hear is a browser-based tool for extracting text and listening to it with browser speech or locally generated audio. Features may change during the beta.
Your content and permissions
Only process material you own or have permission to use. You are responsible for copyright, confidentiality, and any other rules that apply to the material you choose.
Your content remains yours
Using the tool does not transfer ownership of your text, documents, or saved audio to this project. The app has no account or document-upload endpoint.
Acceptable use
Do not use the site to violate applicable law, infringe others’ rights, or interfere with the site or other users.
Accuracy
OCR, extraction, and speech can omit, reorder, or mispronounce words. Review extracted text and check important information against the source.
Important decisions
The tool is not a source of medical, legal, financial, safety, or other professional advice. Do not rely on its output alone for consequential decisions.
Limits of the beta
The app is offered without a service-level promise or warranty of accuracy. To the extent allowed by applicable law, the project cannot take responsibility for decisions made from unverified OCR, extracted text, or audio, or for interrupted availability.
Availability and compatibility
The beta is provided as available. Browser support, device resources, external model downloads, and network conditions affect functionality. Continuous service and perfect output are not guaranteed.
Third-party components
The app uses open-source libraries and an openly licensed model. Their licenses and source links are listed on the Open source page. Browser and platform speech voices may have separate terms.
Downloads
You are responsible for files you save, including WAV audio. Clear or delete them from your own device when no longer needed.
Privacy
Read the Privacy page for current data handling, browser voice limits, model downloads, storage, and hosting requests.
Changes
Features and these beta terms may change. A public launch should publish a review date and a clear notice process for material changes.
